The beginning of a Blog

With so many blogs around these days, one would have to question why anyone would actually bother to write one of their own. Do they really expect a readership will follow? Are people so bored that they will read about the thoughts of someone who themselves was so bored they decided to write a blog?

I can’t answer for other people, well actually I can, but there is no guarantee that my answers would be an accurate representation of their thoughts. I however have my own reasons for starting a blog…. Reasons, that I will start to explain………………………………………………………..now.

It was a Friday night, a Friday night that was slightly different for me. It was my first Friday night since I quit hospitality and got a “day-job” (a job performed during the day). I had reclaimed my weekend again, and the world was my scallop. Not completely used to this scallop-like-world and the regular activities that it provides, somehow I found myself on the couch in front of the TV eating “upper class fish and chips” with my mother and newly acquired step-dad watching the ABC program “Collectors”. For those of you who are unaware, Collectors is a show about… collections. People who collect stuff for fun. In other words bored, old people who don’t know how to write a blog. After the show finished, I was confused about the feelings welling up inside of me…. Family unity? Interacting with parents beyond what is reasonably expected? Upper class fish and chips? Something was clearly wrong.

A wrong that could only be rectified in one way: more time in my room on the internet.

And so the Broken World blog was created.
