Dumb eco-questions

Well having just posted saying I have nothing to write about, I went on to read an article online at New Scientist.
The article Dumb eco-questions you were afraid to ask is quite accurate in name.
One question caught my attention and the answer is truly the most appropriate answer I have ever heard given.
What is the single most effective thing I can do for the environment?
Over a 75-year lifespan, the average European will be responsible for about 900 tonnes of CO2 emissions. For Americans and Australians, the figure is more like 1500 tonnes. Add to that all of humanity’s other environmentally damaging activities and, draconian as it may sound, the answer must surely be to avoid reproducing.
Unfortunately the people smart enough to realise this are the ones that we need to reproduce. It’s the stupid people with nothing better to do than lay around all day making babies that are the problem.
The 2nd most effective thing would obviously be killing all the useless/stupid people. However something tells me that might be frowned upon.
