Stir Fried

So the year started just like any other year, cold and hungover in Berlin. Granted 92% of my previous new years have been spent in Perth in the ungodly heat, and sure… for 62% of those I was too young to enjoy the sweet sweet nectar. But that’s not really the point.
Of course if you are Chinese, and thus travel far faster than any other race of people, time goes slower for you and your new year hasn’t quite started yet.
In a suspicious turn of events this year the Chinese New Year falls on the holiest of all days….Australia Day. Some might say this is merely a coinicdence, that the Chinese New Year is calculated by “the moon”, predetermined thousands of years ago. I say: BALONEY!
I think there is something more insidious here. Never underestimate the Chinese and their speedy ways. Perhaps they plan to cause an uprising, their thirst for iron ore, natural gas and uranium fuelling their desires OR perhaps it is born from some Olympic jealousy whereby the only way for the Chinese to put claim to the “best olympics ever” is to take over Australia and claim it as their own!
Whatever the reason, heed my warning: Beware the Red Dragon!
