One man

I went to a talk a couple nights ago organised by a new group called PICS and the David Suzuki Institute . The guest speaker was a man who was unknown to me by name, but world renowned for his efforts in organisations like Volvo and IKEA: Göran Carstedt.
He’s totally on the ball with where the business world needs to head when it comes to climate change and all things green. While a lot of what he said wasn’t new… he framed it in new ways and opened my eyes to a different way of thinking.
Plus the guy was a quote machine, every 2nd line was like something out of an inspiration book. I wrote my favourites down to share.
The future is not a road to be discovered, it is a road that must be created. If I give you something tangible then I can no longer posses it, if I give you an idea then you give me an idea…we now both have two ideas.
If not everyone succeeds, no one succeeds. (in the context of climate change)
You must grow a culture rather than change a culture.
People don’t mind change, but they mind being changed.
People are not led by a manager, but by good ideas.
With people like this in the world….maybe we have a chance. Maybe.
